Topaz
Topaz is a transparent mineral that is colored by rainbow colors in yellow, orange, brown, blue or pink. Its appearance is very close to fluorite; however, compared to fluorite, topaz has a different crystalline structure.
The name topaz comes from the Greek name of the island of "Topasos", located in the Red Sea, and it is such a misunderstanding. The ancient Greeks brought a golden-green stone to their native land and named it by the name of the island.
However, what they brought was not topaz, but olivine. Topaz was described in the 17th century in the first book about minerals and precious stones by Thomas Nicols.
In the picture on the left and on the right you can see topaz crystals coming from Brazil. The gold topaz has a gorgeous, intense yellow color, which has a tinge of orange, the blue topaz in the picture on the right has only a gentle touch of light blue color, which only becomes apparent when grinding the stone you see on the silver pendants in the pictures below. The transparent topaz in the middle image comes from China.

Jewelry with topaz

Topazes also have a high hardness, at the Mohs hardness scale they are on the 8th place out of 10, so they are quite resistant. What makes topaz delicate is temperature changes, especially sensitive to high temperatures, which are used by some precious stone processors, which, at high temperatures, topaz the brown color to a rare pink topaz.
The silver pendants in the pictures are complemented by the precious gemstones. Light blue is Topaz, green olivine, purple Amethyst and central stone on the right side is Chalcedony. Silver pendants with precious stones both natural and cut.
